Our Vision
Financial Stability For All
We envision a country where all households have sufficient income to afford safe housing, adequate food, reliable transportation, quality child and health care, and sufficient technology, and can also save and invest in their future. This is a vision not only for ALICE, but for the nation as a whole: When households can afford the basics, there is a substantial positive impact on local communities and the wider economy.
Our Mission
To have ALICE become the standard measure used by nonprofit, government, business, and academic institutions to define financial insecurity – thereby changing the common vernacular from “working poor” to “ALICE.” Identifying the ALICE population builds a more accurate picture of how many households and individuals are financially insecure and informs community and stakeholder strategies and solutions for meaningful change.
